The 2023 barbecue season was another big success this year and will be closing after the first weekend in October and we will reopen in the on the third weekend in April of 2024. The Kiwanis Club of Bridgeville, Delaware conducts only one large fundraising event which begins in April and runs through the first weekend in October each year. We are located at the intersection of routes 404 and 36 in (Scott’s Store Road) since 1961. Operating times are from 8:30 am. until we sell out. This is our club’s only fundraising event for the year and each Kiwanian is scheduled to work at the barbecue.
Through our fundraising efforts, the Kiwanis Club of Bridgeville donates over $45,000 dollar to the community organizations throughout the year. We have 26 community and school organizations that use our BBQ stand for their fundraising efforts. This year the various organizations and clubs and school program will earn in excess of $65,000.
Our club also awards six $1,000 scholarships each year to graduating seniors living within the Woodbridge School District. Graduating seniors from Woodbridge High School, Sussex Technical High School, and Greenwood Mennonite School are eligible to apply for our scholarships.
